What we collect

Nothing leaves your device. Aeolian has no backend and does not operate servers that receive your data. We do not collect names, emails, accounts, locations, or usage analytics. The only information we ever handle is described under Purchases and Support below, and it is minimal.

What the app stores on your device

• Your settings and practice history (streaks, session counts, preferences, optional mood check-ins) are saved locally in your device's app storage. They are used only to show your own progress, and they never leave your device.
• You can export a backup file at any time; that file is created and controlled entirely by you.

Purchases

Aeolian is free to download. An optional one-time in-app purchase unlocks the full manual. Payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card number, and Apple does not share your name or personal payment details with us; we receive only aggregate, non-identifying sales information. To restore a purchase, use Restore Purchases in the app (Settings → About).

Support email

If you email support@aeolianbreath.com, we receive your email address and message so we can reply. We use it only to respond to you, and we do not add you to any list.

Apple Health

On iOS, Aeolian can (with your permission) save completed breathing sessions to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes, and read heart-rate data to show you trends. This happens entirely on your device. Aeolian never transmits, stores remotely, or shares any Health data. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app.

Camera (pulse check)

The optional pulse-check tool uses your camera to estimate your pulse from your fingertip. Frames are processed on your device in real time and are never recorded, stored, or transmitted. This is an experimental wellness feature, not a medical measurement.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily practice reminder, it is scheduled as a local notification on your device. No server is involved and we do not know whether or when it fires.

Third parties

Aeolian includes no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs. On iOS, the app may ask the operating system to show Apple's own "rate this app" prompt; that interaction is handled by Apple, and no rating data is sent to us. The web version is served by our hosting provider, which may keep standard, non-identifying server request logs as part of normal operation.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to operate: Apple (App Store distribution and payments) and Vercel (web hosting), plus standard email. They process data only as needed to provide their services to us, under their own privacy and security obligations. We do not use advertising networks or analytics vendors.

Children

Aeolian is a general-audience wellness and education tool, not directed to children under 13. Its optional Family mode is a content-curation setting for supervised use and does not change the fact that no personal data is collected. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request its deletion, and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Because we hold almost nothing, requests are usually simple. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined by California law.

EU/UK (GDPR): where GDPR applies, we process the limited data above on the bases of performing our agreement with you (purchases and support) and legitimate interests (basic operation and security). You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email support@aeolianbreath.com.

Data retention

Aggregate sales records are retained as required for tax and accounting. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to resolve your issue. On-device data stays under your control at all times.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your device, deleting the app (or clearing the browser's site data) permanently removes it. There is nothing for us to delete on our end.

Security

Web traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), and payments are handled by Apple's PCI-compliant systems. Because Aeolian keeps your data on your device, the most sensitive information never travels at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be flagged in-app where reasonably possible.
